DESCRIPTION:Join the Grand Vision Foundation this Earth Day for the world premiere of Saging the World. The film spotlights the ecological and cultural issues intertwined with white sage\, centering on the voices of Native advocates who have long protected and cherished this plant. “Saging” has become common in popular culture\, but instead of healing\, its overuse is has a harmful effect on indigenous communities and ecosystems as poachers steal metric tons of this plant from the wild to supply international demand. The short documentary was produced by Rose Ramirez\, Deborah Small\, and the California Native Plant Society to foster awareness and inspire action for white sage. The screening will include a panel discussion with Native advocates from the film\, as well as a white sage plant giveaway. DESCRIPTION:Head over to COLLAGE to decorate a pysanka\, a painted egg common among Slavic peoples as far back as 5\,000 B.C. This class will teach participants how to make the traditional art form in the Ukranian style. Workshop Instructor Kat Skraba is a long-time cultural arts lover\, interdisciplinary artist\, ethnic dancer\, designer\, curator\, and art educator.
