DESCRIPTION:The annual National Maritime Day Observance and Memorial Service will be held at the American Merchant Marine Veterans Memorial and Walls of Honor in San Pedro. National Maritime Day honors those American Merchant Mariners who have served their country in peace and war from the American Revolution to the present day. The observance will include speakers representing state and local offices as well as the U.S. Maritime Industry. In addition\, a memorial service will be held\, conducted by local clergy and Veterans groups\, honoring those U.S. Merchant Mariners who made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of the United States of America. A luncheon at Ports O’ Call restaurant at Berth 76\, San Pedro will follow the memorial service. The luncheon will feature a guest speaker associated with U.S. Maritime issues. Lunch will be served at 12:30 with a no-host bar available at noon. The memorial event is free; lunch to follow is $45. Parking at Ports O’ Call parking lot with trolley service to the event and restaurant beginning at 10am.
